NOW is the time

Do you often find that you lose that motivation to succeed?

I know I do, sometimes its one of the hardest things to do. And if you’re hear reading this then I get it, I understand how you feel, I understand how hard it can be balancing work, family, social time and then fitting in that time to do exercise and think of what you’re going to eat to stay healthy “on track”. But don’t worry there is always a way to get back on track and get back to being yourself.

I’ve called this blog “NOW is the time” because we always hear those around us and even ourselves saying… I’ll start it tomorrow, or I’ll get back to my diet on Monday. But I’m telling you that now is the time. Why leave it to tomorrow? And if you need the help then get in touch and I will help you as much as I can.

I am going to ask you to do one thing today that takes only 5 minutes.

It doesn’t matter what it is, or if its to do with fitness or food.

Start making progress towards a goal, if you don’t have a goal then use the 5 minutes to write a goal.

Then tomorrow, you’ll do one more 5-minute task that is dedicated to you.

So if you are reading this for the first time then lets set that goal now.

I want you to go and grab a piece of paper and a pen and sit down for 5 minutes.

1. Write down what you want to do.
2. Write down how you are going to achieve it.
3. When are you going to reach this goal?
4. What’s going to stop you getting to this goal.
5. How you are going to overcome these obstacles?

I like to think of this like a Sat Nav and this can relate to the above. For example:

1. What – Destination
2. How – What roads you will take
3. When – Time the journey is going to take
4. Obstacles – roadworks/closed roads
5. Overcome – Alternative routes

Now this task isn’t about health or fitness it is about setting a goal, and we’ll come into that another time, I want you to pick a goal that you can complete in this week and work on it today.

Everyone Struggles

Believe it or not, everyone has those lapses of motivation. The only difference is how we deal with the issues that are getting us down or stopping us achieving our potential.

You are not broken. This is truth, but so many people still walk around thinking that there is something wrong with them. They think that because of their past or because of what someone else did to them that they are not whole, or that there is something missing in them that others have.

But that doesn’t mean it’s true

What I want you to do is get up and go and kick some ass!

That goal that I asked you to write, I want you to put it somewhere you will see when ever you are feeling low and unmotivated. Have it in sight so that you can start your day knowing what you want to achieve.

So the take away from this is

1. You are not alone
2. Set 5 mins aside for you and your goal
3. If you don’t have a goal – Get one
4. Treat your goal like Sat Nav, know where you want to get to, plan the route to get there, know how long it will take, if anything comes up that stops you then reroute and overcome those obstacles.
5. Get up and Kick Ass! – You are Not Broken!
6. Do it Now! – 5 minutes is all it takes to get started.
